We are looking for a talented Chef de Partie to help our culinary team create memorable meals for our guests. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality food that meets the head chef’s standards. To be successful as our chef de partie, you should be someone who can keep a level head when working under pressure, be a team player, possess outstanding customer service skills, and be willing to go the extra mile in pursuit of great food and exceptional service.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for items cooked and served.
  • Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
  • Order produce as needed that will fulfill the needs of the campus as it relates to the daily census.
  • Oversee the correct storage of food items during delivery.
  • Correctly store, handle, and rotate food items.
  • Handle foods in a manner that is consistent with Safe Serv and local authority guidelines
  • Maintain sufficient food levels during service times according to daily census.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area including but not limited to walk-in, reach-in refrigerators, tables, shelves, grills, ovens, fryers, steamers, racks, and sinks.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues as it pertains to the operation of equipment and department needs.
  • Assist the Chef Supervisor in keeping the food service department in compliance with state licensure, accrediting bodies, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Uphold all Hanley Foundation Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain client/potential client confidentiality per Hanley Foundation’s policy.

Other Functions:

  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Head Chef.

  • A varied knowledge of different cuisines and basic nutrition.
  • Knowledge and ability to properly use and maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of best practices for safety and sanitation.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or the equivalent required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Culinary degree or at least four (4) years experience in a high-end establishment preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license per Driving Standards Policy.
  • Hold a current Safe Serv certification.
  • Experience in cooking ethnic foods.
  • Must be able to meet a flexible work schedule to provide emergency and overtime service at times during unscheduled work hours.
  • If in recovery, one (1) year of continuous sobriety is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and preparing and cooking food.
  • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
