This job invoves:

  • Developing and creating menus that meet the needs of the establishment, its customers, and its budget
  • Ensuring that all dishes are prepared to high standards of quality and presentation
  • Managing the kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
  • Monitoring food and labor costs to maintain profitability
  • Ordering and managing food and supplies inventory
  • Staying current with food trends and incorporating them into menu offerings
  • Collaborating with other members of the restaurant management team to plan and execute events and special promotions
  • Mentoring and developing kitchen staff to improve their skills and advance their careers.
