Job Summary: The purpose of the Lead Cashier position is to maintain excellent customer service by assisting and overseeing the Cashier team while taking and placing orders for guests in an efficient and timely manner. It is important for the Lead Cashier position to lead the team in maintaining the cleanliness of the storefront, offering knowledgeable information to the guests & cashiers, and ensuring all products are stocked for service. The Lead Cashier will also use cash registers and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.

 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high morale throughout the Cashier team.
  • Act as a liaison between the Assistant Manager and Cashier team
  • Ensure opening and closing duties are performed properly.
  • Perform opening and closing duties.
  • Answer any questions or inquiries from the team.
  • Ensure the Cash Registers are properly counted.
  • Greet each customer in a welcoming and friendly manner.
  • Be knowledgeable of menu and products for sale.
  • Accurately take food and drink orders for guests
  • Use POS system to place orders for guests.
  • Prepare to-go orders quickly and efficiently.
  • Appropriately handle money by following the company policy at beginning and end of shift
  • Place menu displays accordingly before shift.
  • Stock all items needed for shift.
  • Make iced tea and check/replace soda bibs at the beginning of shift.
  • Process returns and exchanges according to store policy.
  • Fill sanitizer buckets
  • Complete end of shift cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces and taking out trash
  • Fill out “end of day” reports.
  • Complete monthly inventory
  • Fills orders for ice cream treats.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Sufficient education and literacy are needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years as a cashier preferred.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way.
  • Ability to listen attentively in a busy environment.
  • Time Management skills to ensure order accuracy.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make changes and give refunds.
  • Ability to understand chits in order to run expo in the absence of management.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively and efficiently.
