An excellent opportunity has come available for a Senior Chef to join a privately owned restaurant that has been established for over 20 years.
This busy central Oxford restaurant typically has ninety covers trading over two floors with an open style kitchen on the ground floor.
Serving mainly traditional French bistro style dishes, with a slightly modern twist. Using fresh local ingredients where possible. Menus change 4/5 times a year, with specials frequently offered.
Menus offered are prix fixe, 2 or 3 courses at both lunch and dinner
Busy and fast serving in excess of 1000 customers per week
Open 7 evenings a week, 3 lunches (Friday -Sunday)
The Role
You will be required to assist the Senior Chef in meal preparations, rotating stock and receiving deliveries etc
The duties and responsibilities will vary but can include:
- Measuring meal ingredients accurately for the Station Chef
- Plating and presenting food items as per the Station Chef’s instruction
- Receiving deliveries and making sure that all ordered items are of excellent quality and are delivered on time
- Preparing basic sauces and salads as directed by the Station Chef
- Preparing meal ingredients, including seasoning of different meats, as well as chopping, peeling and washing, fruits and vegetables
Taking inventory of supplies and informing the restaurant’s Supervisor of depleted or low supplies.
