Northern Lights Resort & Spa is an award-winning Lodge/Resort business catering to customers from all over the globe. We offer All-Inclusive packages for Northern Lights Viewing & Nature–Fun Activities between June and April. We are looking for a (Executive) Chef / Cook from 1. August 2023 to April 2024 and longer.
You need to have a valid work visa for Canada. We are near Whitehorse in the Yukon and looking for help in the kitchen for the winter season. Our kitchen is well equipped, max. 17 guests at a time but need to cater to occasional dietary restrictions like a vegetarian diet, gluten-free, lactose-free etc.
This position is for an open-minded, outgoing person(s) looking to work well in our small team, be independent, and develop new ideas to help grow Northern Lights Resort & Spa successfully.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Main Responsibilities
Create menus for all meals
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
Preparing food for service
Adjust menus for special requests, i.e., dietary restrictions, allergies
Grocery shopping, assist with liquor shopping
Assist with breakfast prep, prepare lunch and dinner
Maintain food cost budget
Service of all meals (excluding days off)
Utilization of spare products, minimization of food waste
Maintaining quality of food
Preparing meals and items in advance for days off
Maintaining health and safety standards
