JOB TITLE: Culinary Director

WORKER CATEGORY: Full Time

CULINARY DIRECTOR SALARY: $40,000 – $50,000 annual salary

CULINARY DIRECTOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Culinary Director has the overall responsibility for operating the culinary department and food service in a quality manner
  • Assure quality food preparation and presentation is achieved
  • Supervise kitchen, dining room, dish room and related storage areas.
  • Culinary Director will plan nutritious menu with variety to meet resident needs
  • Oversee food preparation, plating, service and delivery for all daily meals/snacks
  • Responsible for ensuring proper sanitation practices and procedures in the food service dept and training appropriate staff, including dishwashing
  • Culinary Director will maintain proper inventory of kitchen equipment, food and supplies and perform inventory of all items related to food service
  • Complete regular food and supply ordering as needed per menus
  • Coordinate receival of food order and ensure all delivered items are put away and stored
  • Maintain all culinary spaces, supplies and food in an orderly and sanitary manner to meet all state/local regulation + food safety code
  • Culinary Director will oversee routine cleaning/organization schedules and ensure completion – includes garbage control
  • Responsible for working with the maintenance team and meeting any maintenance needs for any food service department repairs by contacting appropriate vendors and getting repair quotes approved by the Executive Director.
  • Coordinate with marketing and activities departments as needed for food/snack/beverage preparation for events
  • Recipe creation
  • Be familiar with job descriptions and duties of Culinary Assistant, Cook, Prep Cook-Server, Dietary Aide and perform those tasks as needed
