Chef de Partie

Scanway Catering in Halifax is looking to hire Chef de Partie or Catering Commi for their new contract by December 1, 2023.

Position: Full-time, permanent

Education: High School must. Any additional culinary certificate is an asset.

Job description:

• Prepare and cook meals and specialty foods as directed.
  • Prepares food with high standards and in accordance with recipes or as instructed by Chef
  • Plan menus and ensure food quality standards are met; complies with health regulations
  to encourage a safe and efficient operation.
  • Estimate food requirements and estimates food and labour costs.
  • Makes sure all food is stored appropriately. Works clean and efficiently.
  • Always maintain kitchen hygiene, during cooking and on catering sites.
  • Assists teammates when needed. Works as a team player.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing
  the proper uniform during work hours.
  • Maintain work ethics and is accountable.
