Wheatleigh, a distinguished member of the Leading Hotels of the World collection, is renowned for providing unparalleled luxury, exquisite dining, and exceptional service to our guests. We are now seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Pastry Chef to join our award-winning team and oversee our bread and dessert program. This includes creating desserts for events as well as our fine dining restaurant, Sage & Sparrow, set to open in October 2023. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled pastry chef.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative dessert menus, pastries, and event desserts that delight our guests and complement our overall culinary offerings.
- Oversee the pastry kitchen, including supervising a team of talented pastry cooks and bakers.
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef, culinary team and General Manager to ensure that pastry offerings align with the overall dining experience.
- Create and implement pastry production schedules.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into your creations.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage budgets to optimize kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant, luxury hotel, or fine dining establishment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry arts.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, dessert presentation, and plating.
- Creativity and a passion for research and development..
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the highest quality product.
